Eco-Friendly handmade washable and biodegradable alternative sponges.
Reusable scrubbers are the ideal plastic free alternatives to disposable synthetic sponges. They can be washed and used for a very long time, without nasty micro-plastics ending up in the drains.
MATERIALS:
- Oeko-Tex certified 100% cotton waffle towelling
- Natural hessian
- 100% cotton thread
- Kapok fibres, for an organic and naturally antibacterial filling. Kapok is a soft fibre that grows around the seeds of the ceiba tree. The one we use is 100% organic, 100% natural, unsprayed, untreated and free from chemicals. The sponges are handmade in London, UK.
SIZE:
Approx. 3.3" x 4.5" / 8.5 x 11.5 cm (it might vary up to 5mm, due to the product being handmade)
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Squeeze well at the end of your washing up and allow to air dry. The kapok filling, might take a little longer than synthetic sponges to dry, but that's perfectly normal. Wash in a bowl filled with warm water and a mix of vinegar and French soap (you may add dish soap if particularly greasy), or in your washing machine. Squeeze well and allow to air dry.
If treated properly they will last for a long time, reducing the need to buy kitchen scourers. When not good enough for the kitchen anymore, you can still use the wipes to clean the windows or the bathroom. When ready to discard you can cut them up with scissors, and put them into your compost bin.
